Principal's Greeting

If you have come here to help me you are wasting your time, but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.

— Lilla Watson

Prior to joining the amazing team at Birmingham Covington School, Jill has had the opportunity to serve in schools as a principal, leadership consultant, instructional coach, and teacher. She is an advocate of meaningful, authentic learning experiences and loves the interdisciplinary approach to instruction at BCS!  She is inspired by the mission of BCS to cultivate an engaging environment that embraces all students and empowers them to pose questions, integrate resources, synthesize, evaluate and apply their knowledge, so they are inspired to make positive contributions to our diverse and ever-changing world.

Principal Geden earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in English.  She also has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Arizona State University and a master’s in school leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.  Jill loves to spend time with her family watching her kids play soccer and traveling.
