BCS faculty members have participated in a wide range of national and international public presentations, such as the Microsoft Educator Network, the Birmingham Learning Conference, the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning, the International Society for Technology in Education, The Governor's Summit on Education, Galileo Leadership Consortium.org, the Boston Learning Conference, the Michigan Innovative Schools Conference, and the Oakland County Effective Practices Conference, among others.

At BCS, students in grades 3 to 8 are offered not only rigorous academic programs and a wide range of extracurricular activities but also the opportunity to participate in Engineering Technology classes and inquiry-based courses. These courses, referred to as Engage and Thinkering Studio, provide project-based learning experiences for every student. Our state-of-the-art Research & Design Lab, also known as a "makerspace," along with a portable makerspace, has significantly expanded the digital fabrication possibilities within our curriculum and for our students. Through practicing scientific inquiry, design, and application, students develop a deeper understanding of the connections between science, technology, history, communication, and the human experience.

BCS has a wide variety of athletic team options for our students to choose from. We currently have 15 different sports available. Our interscholastic athletic program for middle schools students is broken into four athletic seasons. The seasons closely run approximately the length of each card marking.
